The Smith Family is a national, independent children's charity, works in partnership with other caring Australians to help disadvantaged Australian children. At the centre of our work, and the heart of our organisation, is our belief in the power and possibilities of relationships. For disadvantaged children to rise up, many of whom are growing up in lone parent and jobless households, they need to be connected to, and supported by, an extended family.
What they try to accomplish.
The Smith's family helps young Australian kids turn their life around. Most of the kids have problems because of divorce of parents or their parents not having work so therefore they cannot pay for anything that they are using. People give money to the Smith's Family so that the kids who are disadvantaged can live a more joyful and successful life.
What are they doing to help the community?
The Smith's Family set up charities that help the kids of Blacktown and they organise events which help the young kids have fun and have a great time. They help the kids feel more advantaged because they give them another chance to live a good life and have a great education with it.
