Blacktown Hospital was opened in April 1965 with a total of 160 beds. Its bed capacity increased over the years with the Maternity Unit being commissioned in 1976. By 1987, its bed capacity had reached 365. The Blacktown Hospital has a list of clinical services within it and these include: diabetes centre, orthopaedic, Surgical/Medical short stay unit, mental health and other services including dental services. They help all types of people with symptoms, from a cough or cold to a serious car accident.
What they try to accomplish.
They take in ill people they do their best to make them healthy. Blacktown Hospital has a great service but the only downfall is that if you do not have a health cover you have to pay to stay in the beds. The Hospital also is a teaching hospital and it provides medical education for people in the area.

Blacktown caters for the unwell people and they give all types of medical services. They help the community by providing them the medical provision and support they need if they cannot walk or do anything else.
